Call for proposals for 'Career Development'

Deadline: 15 April 2014

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 'Career development'.

The European Union needs highly trained and qualified researchers to improve the well-being of its citizens and ensure economic growth. In this context, this new call aims to support the EURAXESS Services Network and to complement the efforts made so far in support of researchers' career development in an academic environment.

The call builds on the principle that - based on the knowledge, behaviour and characteristics of an individual researcher - career development advice, coaching, and training could further enable a researcher to aspire to excellence, whether inside and outside academia. Researchers will be provided with tools, best practices, advice and training, and they will be able to set personal targets and demonstrate evidence of achievements.

Indicative budget: EUR 0.96 million

Beneficiaries: At least 3 independent legal entities, each of which is established in a EU member state or Associated country, and no 2 of which are established in the same EU member state or Associated country.

Call for proposals 'Researchers' Night'

The European Commission has published its 'Researchers' Night call for proposals, which is part the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

Deadline: 08 January 2013

Taking place every year since 2005, the Researchers' Night benefits from an ever-increasing success and impact, both in terms of number of people reached and benefits to the Marie Curie Actions. Its main objective is to bring the researchers closer to the public at large, thereby enhancing their role in the mainstream of society. With a budget of EUR 4 million, the call for proposals allows for a greater cohesion between the various actions supported, their scale, the target audience and the messages delivered

European financial support for long term professional career integration projects
Deadlines:6th March 2012 AND 18th September 2012

This action consists of financial support for long term professional career integration projects in a host organisation of a Member State or associated country.
The financial support aims to provide the researcher with the best possible conditions for establishing herself/himself in a long term research career. For selected projects, a grant agreement is issued with the integration host organisation, which will commit itself to ensure an effective and lasting professional integration of the researcher for a period of at least the same duration as the project.
The integration host organisation must provide the researcher with an employment contract with a remuneration package of at least the same level to that offered to equivalently qualified researchers at the same institution. Evidence that the researcher will be integrated in the host organisation on this basis for a longer term will be positively taken into account during evaluation. Projects will be selected on the basis of a proposal submitted by an eligible researcher in liaison with a host organisation.
