Research on Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and Production Technologies

The new call for proposal will be published on 20th July 2011.

Main Activites for 2012 research projects:
The focus will be on  smart and sustainable growth, for a greener industry

The activites proposed in the programme will support the European Economic Recovery Plan, through three Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs): 'Factories of the future', 'Energy efficient Buildings' and 'Green cars'.


With regard to specific challenges, the following issues are addressed:

• Environmental issues and sustainable development 
• Raw Materials 
• Health and safety 
• Factories of the Future 
• European energy-efficient buildings

TRANSPORT: SYSTEMS FOR GREEN OPERATIONS

SYSTEMS FOR GREEN OPERATIONS

  • Construction of evaluation Power Modules to a given design
  • Modelica Model Library Development
  • Current return simulation (methodology and tools)
  • Optimisation of coating for low pressure operation of power electronics and identification of pass and fail criteria for respective corona testing
  • Flight Operations for novel Continuous Descents Including assistance in preparation, execution and analysis of a flight simulator experiment.

NANOSCIENCES, NANOTECHNOLOGIES, MATERIALS AND NEW PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES – COORDINATED CALL EU-RUSSIA


DEADLINE: 31st March 2011

Topic called:
Multiscale Modelling as a tool for Virtual Nanotechnology Experimentation:
  • Theoretical analysis, design and functional virtual testing of hetero or hybrid nanostructured elements for use in smart systems, integrated systems, OLEDs, photo-voltaics or energy saving applications
  • Theoretical analysis, design and functional virtual testing of organic matrix nanocomposites for industrial applications (including optical electrical and mechanical properties).
  • Theoretical analysis, design and functional virtual testing of behavioural features (e.g. biocompatibility and mechanical properties) of biocompatible, metallic nanomaterials
BENEFICIARIES:
At least three independent legal entities, established in a Member State or Associated Country,

Proposals which do not include coordination with a Russian project will be considered ineligible. Therefore, each EU project proposal must include reference and description of the proposal submitted for funding to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. Proposals will only be evaluated on the condition that the corresponding coordinated Russian project proposal(s) also is presented for funding to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
