Design, Implementation, Promotion and Marketing of  Accessible Tourism Itineraries
Deadline: 22 October 2013 

Objectives:
  • To foster adaptation of tourism products and services to the needs of people with special access needs 
  • To promote equal opportunity and social inclusion of people with special access needs 
  • To improve skills and training with relation to accessibility in the tourism supply chain 
  • To help mainstreaming accessibility in all segments of the tourism supply chain, while at the same time creating a seamless chain of accessibility in tourism 
  • To promote, market and disseminate best practices in accessible tourism 
  • To provide adequate support and guidance to SMEs
  • To enhance the quality and diversify the offer of accessible tourism experiences in Europe
Expected results:
  • New partnerships and better cooperation amongst local authorities/relevant tourism authorities and agencies, tourism operators, in particular SMEs, training providers and disability stakeholders 
  • A stronger focus on accessibility in local tourism development agendas and strategies 
  • Creation of a "critical mass" of accessible destinations, attractions, sites and tourism-related services, as mainstream products providing quality and value-for-money 
  • Better trained staff, better skills, higher satisfaction levels form travellers and a more positive image of the destinations concerned, thus boosting the overall image of Europe as a tourism destination 
  • Attracting more tourists, and maintaining viable tourism flows in the low-season. 
  • Positive returns for businesses, especially SMEs and micro-SMEs 

Maximum EU Contribution per project : € 125.000

Encouraging Senior Citizens to travel in Europe

DEADLINE: 26 September 2013

Tourism is an economic activity capable of generating growth and employment in the EU, while contributing to development and economic and social integration.
The general objective of this call for proposals is to facilitate transnational tourism flows of seniors within Europe in the low season with a view to:
  • Foster the demand and supply of transnational tourism for seniors;
  • Improve tourism seasonality patterns across Europe, by contributing to the extension of the tourism season;
  • Create innovative tourism packages for seniors, which will be available and sustainable after the EU co-financed period;
  • Set up and strengthen sustainable public-private European partnerships, to contribute creating a European tourism domestic market for seniors in the long term.

Making Tourism more sustainable


Supporting the enhancement and promotion of sustainable transnational thematic tourism products

DEADLINE: 3rd July 2013


The overall objectives of the call for proposals are the following:
• to support the enhancement and promotion of sustainable transnational thematic tourism products contributing to the development and promotion of sustainable tourism in Europe by improving their visibility and market uptake.
• to contribute to the creation of an environment favorable to transnational co-operation among tourism-related stakeholders with a particular emphasis on the SMEs.
A transnational thematic tourism product is meant as made up of a set of tourism destinations, attractions, services and taking the form of a transnational route/itinerary/trail/tourism offer, either physical (based on physical infrastructure) or conceptual (linking places/destinations/attractions) having a common thematic link and a high potential for sustainable tourism development.

Cooperation projects to create transnational tourism products based on cultural and industrial heritage 


Deadline: 28/09/2012


The final goal of the present call for proposals is to complement regional and national policies by supporting transnational cooperation and joint initiatives aiming at designing innovative transnational products in the fields of cultural and/or industrial tourism, with a view to: 
 1) Contributing to differentiate the European tourism offer by capitalising on and giving value to the shared cultural heritage; 
 2) contributing to economic regeneration and job creation in declining (post) industrial regions through interregional and transnational cooperation projects in the field of tourism.

European funds for European Destinations of Excellence - Accessible tourism
Deadline: 30th April 2012
The objective of the present call for proposals is to support eligible countries’ National Administrations in charge of tourism, or other eligible public bodies for the purpose of the selection of one destination of excellence.
The theme for this year's call is “Accessible tourism”.
It is proposed to reward those destinations which have developed a tourism offer based on an overall approach to accessibility for tourists regardless of their physical limitations, disabilities or age.

European grant: Promoting Social Tourism in Europe through the  Development of a Demand-Supply Web-Based Platform
Deadline: 14th October 2011
The overall objective of this call for proposals is to support the creation of a web-based platform as a mechanism intended to facilitate  transnational tourism particularly within the CALYPSO target groups, valorise the potential of off-season availability of accommodation, and increase the competitiveness of tourism SME’s.
Specific objectives:
(a) To create a web platform that will facilitate transnational social tourism in Europe, in line with the CALYPSO target groups and objectives.
(b) To propose an appropriate informatics and communication technology dimension for the web platform.

Trans-national cooperation projects on  European Cultural Routes
Deadline: 7th October 2011

Overall objectives: 
1) to contribute to differentiating the European tourism offer, capitalising on the shared cultural heritage;

2) to contribute integrating both horizontally and vertically the cultural tourism sector, facilitating
clusters/networks of both cultural tourism products and enterprises of the cultural tourism sector.

Financed actions:
The call will support initiatives aimed at promoting and giving more visibility to trans-national Cultural-Tourism Routes - here after referred to as "Routes" -  (also including those recognised by the Council of Europe).
By Route, within the context of this call, it is intended that an itinerary that could either be physical (based on a physical infrastructure) or virtual (linking places/destinations/attractions which have a conceptual link, e.g. a common theme). Hence, these routes are not necessarily built on existing physical route infrastructures.


Eligibility
Applications from legal entities established in one of the following countries are eligible:
(1) EU Member States
(2) Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Israel
