European Research Council Grants

The film portrays seven young and bright researchers that have received a European Research Council (ERC) Starting grant. This documentary film reveals their personalities uncovering their research universe and ambitions. The research they strive for can be carried out with the financial support of ERC grants. The European Research Council (ERC) is the first European funding body set up to support investigator-driven and excellent frontier research. Every year the ERC selects and supports the very best, truly creative scientists, scholars and engineers, both Europeans and non Europeans, by the means of calls for proposals funded by the Seventh EU Research Framework Programme (FP7). Since its setting up in 2007, the ERC has supported more than 800 research projects, led either by top scientists ("ERC Advanced grants") or by younger, emerging research leaders ("ERC Starting grants").
